Freelance Colleagues are independent artists with whom New Essex Theater enjoys ongoing creative working relationships.
Carlos Sanchez Lopez is very reclusive, preferring to remain hidden behind the scenes, allowing the stories to speak for themselves. He has been a storyteller for almost 20 years, having written about a dozen scripts and directing several projects over the years, both for stage and screen.
Carlos' working friendship with Scott Duprey dates back to the 1980's, when Scott appeared in a series of Pixelvision shorts that Carlos wrote, shot and directed. Those shorts provided the foundation for Carlos' real world cinematic education. With the knowledge gained from making the Pixelvision shorts, Carlos was able to get work behind the scenes in various areas, often for no credit or pay, but gaining valuable experience and skills in a practical environment.
